Update: Song Choices

Well, here's an updated list of the song choices... So, let's discuss them shall we?

Shniffer Rei will be singing another (oh, can't we get tired of this?) rock version of whatchamacallit song of Edwin McCain. Insecurobby Navarro has chosen another ballad, so I'm expecting he'll be another disappointment (for us, 'cause he's gonna give us another flawless performance) *yawns*. JJ Jr. (getting annoyed with the name with infinite J's in it, GMA couldn't even think of anymore names for his lame name, no? Like Joselindo Pimpinio Jr. was changed in a rather worse name, JJ Jr.) will sing a Luther Vandross song? Oh no! Looks like he wants to top our Lagpakerz list this week. There is no doubt in my mind that Daryl Celis will be dancing to the tune of Right Here Waiting, and everybody's excited. Duh. Kid Camaya (the only possible matino among the guys) chose another boring song. Well, IbotoAngLagpak team would be very happy if he goes home, lesser goody-goody contestants for Pinoy Idol. And Ramboo Chaves chose a Creed song. What's new?

Jeni Rawolle will give us a Sitti Version of You Raise Me Up, I don't care anyway, I still like Jelli Mateo better. Sue Ellen's frail voice plus her probinsyana look, perfect Manilyn Reynes na sinabawan ng konting Juris of MYMP na naman ang labanan niya. Wait there's more! Carol Leus-er will be singing another Christina Aguilera song! Seriously, is she thinking that she can be the next Pinoy Idol by singing the list of songs in Christina Aguilera's album? She can't even get close to Cristina Paner's vocal skills! Jayann sings an unfamiliar song again! And again and again... Mae Flores, WTF!? Why choose a song from a close-to-Britney pop sensation Jessica Simpson? Gretchen Espina chose Mau's winning song and I yawn, and yawn and yawn.

Penelope will do great and that sucks.

A Success: Meryl and Walton Out

Two of the remaining goodies in the competition exited the show last night, it's no surprise as Walton Zerrudo and Meryl David got the boot. Meryl's lack of looks and personality got the best of her. Her performance last Saturday was okay and one of the best ones. Though one of the most consistent ones in the competition, Meryl, who confessed that Lauryn Hill mostly influences her music style, was voted out last night. She sang Killing Me Softly . Even if the judges gave the hype to Walton Zerrudo, he still lost his way to stardom. Even owning the night last Friday, Walton received the lowest number of votes along with Kid and Toffer in the Bottom 3. Along with Meryl in the bottom three were the best of the performance night: Mae Flores and Jeni Rawolle. --- Comments. It's actually suspicious since they only eliminated two this round (one male, one female). Can't they afford Kid, Toffer, Jeni, or Mae (some of the better contestants) to leave the show? Whack 9: No Bird Shall Fly Today.

Even the songbird can't fly today. It was, as expected a dismaying night. Even Regine Velasquez' guesting didn't help the lame show! We saw nine mediocre singers who can be proud of themselves singing better than Jolina Magdangal or Wyngard Tracy. They're performances didn't even level off with Regine's greatness. Jayann started the night with Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka . Nothing very phenomenal with the performance. Jayann has a really good voice, she can very well beat Maricris Garcia or Jonalyn Viray, if that's what GMA's standard is. It's such a surprise for Shniffer the Sniffer Rei to sing You Made Me Stronger. He had a shaky start but a flawless ending. Again, so-so. We have a very nervous Penelope in the stage singing What Kind of Fool I Am . It was Penelope's worst performance. Notes are all over the place. Messed up and murdered performance. The Top 16 has just been named. Its time to know who's up at Vote for the Worst Pinoy Iboto ang Lagpak ( I b A n L ag!).
